Plano de Saúde represents a strategic Custom WordPress Theme Refactoring project. Working as a Front-End Specialist, my mission was to translate a Figma layout into a robust WordPress ecosystem, replacing an outdated theme that suffered from poor metrics.
Project Overview: From Figma to High Performance
The layout was designed in Figma, and I was responsible for the complete development lifecycle. The previous theme had acceptable speed but failed critically in Accessibility and Technical SEO. The goal of this Custom WordPress Theme Refactoring was to balance these metrics, ensuring the site was not just fast, but also accessible and rankable.
The Challenge: Improving Core Metrics
A pretty site is useless if it doesn’t rank or isn’t accessible. The refactoring process focused on:
- Code-Only Build: I avoided page builders entirely. By coding the theme from scratch, I ensured clean markup.
- Accessibility (a11y): Implemented semantic HTML and ARIA labels to boost the accessibility score, making the site usable for everyone.
- SEO Optimization: Structure and meta-tags were overhauled to meet modern search engine standards.
Technical Execution & Logic
To maintain the site’s dynamic nature without bloating the code, I utilized Advanced Custom Fields (ACF).
- Dynamic Redirects: I created custom fields that allow the marketing team to change destination links globally, directing users to specific lead capture forms dynamically.
- Ecosystem Integration: This project belongs to the same high-performance group as SeguroAuto.org and Smartia.com.br, sharing the same rigorous development standards.
Conclusion
